How we work

Transform the rooftop

We work with a building owner to construct a greenhouse on their rooftop. What used to be an unused, unsightly area is transformed into beautiful, usable green space.

A working farm

Our farming team maintains the greenhouse and utilises it to grow premium microgreens. We use the latest advances in urban farming to do this in an eco-friendly way.

Deliver from farm to plate

Our produce is used by the finest chefs, caterers, and in bars in and around Cape Town. Our hyperlocal model means that we can deliver microgreens as soon as they are ready to be harvested. It’s as fresh as it gets.

You can explore and order our produce here on our website. For bulk quantities (i.e. for chefs, caterers, and bars), you can order and pay online, and we offer delivery in Cape Town and Stellenbosch. For smaller quantities (we’re looking at you, foodies!), you can order and pay online, and then pick up your fresh produce from your local market.

As our farms are located in the middle of the city, we can deliver live produce to chefs, caterers, and bars within minutes. Combined with this unique farm-to-plate approach, we don’t rinse the plants. As we sell live produce, your microgreens will stay fresh and continue to grow as long as you keep the roots hydrated.

No, we do not use pesticides, fungicides or any other chemical treatment.

Our greenhouses are set up in such a way that they can make optimal use of the warm African sun. Fortunately, there is no shortage of sunlight on rooftops! Furthermore, we use cutting-edge hydroponic urban farming techniques with advanced water recycling. This means our greenhouses need minimal water from other sources.

Yes! If you’re a chef, caterer, or bar considering our microgreens, please send us your details so we can arrange a tasting. And everybody else? Unfortunately, because our farms are located on top of private buildings, they are not open to the public. But find us at your local market to see our fresh produce!
